Each state controls their own firearm legislation. In Arizona for example you can carry a concealed gun without a permit but in Michigan you will need to be over 21 and have a permit. Therefore the consequences of being caught without a license or permit will depend on where you live.

A $10,000 fine and a maximum sentence of up to five years are enforceable in some states. Depending on the severity of your case, the penalties will vary. For example, the type of gun you were carrying or your age will affect the judge's order.
