Handicapped parking permits in Texas allow people with disabilities to park in designated handicapped parking spaces all over the state. If you park in one of those spaces without a permit, you will face heavy fines. Handicapped parking permits can only be obtained by filing an application with the Department of Motor Vehicles. When this application is approved, you will receive a pass in the mail.

Download and print out the application form from the Adaptive Access website.

Take the form to your doctor to fill out all the disability information.

Fill out the remaining form information, then take it and the $5 application fee to the county tax collector for your region in Texas. Call 512-465-7611 if you do not know the address of your county tax collector.
