When a law enforcement agency investigates an incident, there is usually an accident or police report created to record the event. This procedure is standard around the country, and Dallas County is no different. In most cases, anyone can obtain a copy of a police report as long as he knows the report number. A Dallas County police report can be obtained from any department substation, but there is also a simple procedure that must be followed.

Step 1

Visit a local Dallas County Police Department substation.

Step 2

Locate the police department clerk and ask for a copy of a police report.

Step 3

Provide the clerk with the police report number. The clerk will then look up the report by its number and print out a certified copy.

Step 4

Pay the appropriate fee to obtain your copy. Dallas County charges $6.00 per copy.
