The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) offers several ways for individuals who have been arrested to obtain copies of their criminal records. The LAPD also supplies the information necessary to aid individuals in obtaining copies of their California and federal criminal records.
According to the LAPD, individuals who have been arrested by the LAPD can obtain a summary of their arrests. The summary provides a list of "the dates, charges and dispositions (if they are on file) for LAPD arrests only. The summary will not include outside agency arrests."
Obtaining Your Criminal Record
Individuals who wish to obtain a copy of their LAPD arrest record can apply in person by going to the police administration building at 100 West 1st Street and completing an application in Room P1-137, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
As of August 2010, the LAPD charges $16.00 for each copy of the arrest record.
Individuals who would prefer to obtain the copy of their LAPD arrest record by mail are required to submit a full set of fingerprints on a standard fingerprint card containing all personal data, including mailing address and zip code, a letter requesting an arrest summary and a check or money order made payable to LAPD for $16.00.

If an individual has been arrested by police from multiple jurisdictions, the LAPD recommends she request a copy of her criminal records from the California Department of Justice, rather than "requesting arrest summaries from multiple localities."
