If you're suffering at the hands of a rogue postman you suspect is behaving in an illegal or underhanded manner or committing misconduct, get in touch with the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General to make your concerns known. You should gather as much information about the shady postal worker as you can before making your compliant, including the full details of the nature of the incident and the postperson's name and job title.

Navigate to the "Contact" page on the Inspector General's website and click on "Submit a new complaint."

Fill in your personal details and provide a detailed description of the circumstances that led to you submitting your complaint. Provide as much detail about the incident as you can, and make it clear if you have any physical or documentary evidence of wrongdoing or skulduggery.

Specify whether or not you would be happy to be contacted to discuss the issues and submit your complaint. The USPS OIG will contact you if it requires any further details and to keep you informed of the progress of your complaint.

  • If the issue you want to complain about is service-related or does not involve illegality or misconduct, you can contact USPS customer services at 1-800-275-8777 from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. EST, and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST.
