Visitors to the United States need to check the entry requirements specific to their country of origin before embarking on their trip. The United States requires many tourists to obtain a visa before they are allowed into the country. Those seeking to visit the U.S. only temporarily need a non-immigrant visa. The specific type of non-immigrant visa you need depends on the purpose of your visit, according to Travel.State.Gov.

Any citizen of China wishing to visit the United States needs to apply for a non-immigrant visa at a branch of Embassy of the United States in China. China has consular offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenyang and Chengdu. All applicants must attend an interview. To organize an interview, call the Visa Information Call Center. Before calling, purchase a pre-paid PIN card from the Visa Information Call Center website or China CITIC Bank.
