To see what address goes with a home phone number, all you have to do is search for the number online, since these phone numbers can be found in the white pages. Cell-phone numbers, however, are not recorded in phone books, making connecting one with an address a more difficult process. For a small fee, though, you can find the name and address that go with most cell-phone numbers. Here are a few ways to do it.

Type the cell phone number in quotes ("555-867-5309") into your favorite search engine. If the person who owns that phone number has posted the number to a social-networking site like Facebook, this will show up during your search. Once you have found the name of the person, you can search for an address, as you would in a normal phone book.

Log onto the Reverse Phone Detective. (See the link in Resources.) Type the phone number in the text box found on the home page. Follow the example below the text box to ensure that you enter the number correctly. Click the “Search Now” tab.

Click the “Continue” tab on the next page. This will take you to a registration page for this website. Choose either the “Premium Membership,” which allows unlimited use of the service for one year for $39.95, or a specific report for the number you entered, which will cost $14.95. Once you've made your decision, click the “Buy Now” tab next your choice.

Enter your billing information on the next page. You will need a debit or credit card in order to use this service. Once you've completed this page and processed your order, the report for that cell phone will be made available.

Log on to the Reverse Phone Directory website. (See the link in Resources.)

Enter the cell-phone number in the first text box on the left-hand side of the page. This will be found underneath the “Search by Cell Phone” heading. Click the “Instant Lookup” tab once you've finished.

Click the “View Phone Details” tab on the new web page. You will be taken to another page where you can once again choose to buy a report for that particular number or register on the website. Registering on this website gives you a 10 percent discount on all future searches.

Choose the “Premium Confirmation Service” on the new web page (this will appear regardless of your choice on the previous page) in order to acquire the address that goes with the cell phone. Click the red “Continue” tab to access the account area of the website.

Enter your billing information. Once again, a debit or credit card is required to use this service.
